Ruggette RFC make shorts like no one else: our Clubhouse range is the pièce de résistance of women’s rugby apparel you didn’t know you were missing.
With the Stadium Shorts, we wanted to go for that old-school look and feel: defined by our choice of colours, the classic, versatile Black Fern and British Navy, and Techknit’s twill texture.
Our Teammate Shorts are the last word in women’s rugby clothing. They’re a modern classic perfect for your team strip, training, or everyday exercise and gym-going.
Cut specifically for female players proportions from printed Sportslite, our classic Clubhouse shorts come in a range of patterns and colours, in either Femme or Tomboy fit. With reinforced seams and four way stretch, the Clubhouses are just as tough as they are comfortable!
The old school vibes you love, with the modern performance and feel you deserve! The Stadium Short features our new TechKnit fabric, woven with a directional twill to look like the classic rugby short of yesteryear, but in a lighter weight, and in four way stretch. The same pitch-tough performance you expect from Ruggette, with a classic aesthetic. It’s the best of both worlds, and ideal for game day!
We took our classic Clubhouse, and created a team strip friendly version. The Teammate Short is cut from solid dyed Sportslite, in colours that can blend in with your team strip...and few colours that definitely don’t. Tough enough for anything the pitch throws at you, but just as comfy as our classic Clubhouses!
The Step 1 Short
We’ve transformed an afterthought into the missing piece of ladies’ rugby clothing. They’re the definition of utility: your go-to under short whether you’re playing, training, exercising or simply living. These women’s under-shorts are the essential starting point of your kit, while also cutting down what you have to put in your kit bag every day – they’re immensely versatile.
The Retro Short. Combining old-school styling with modern performance, it's a pair of shorts like no other.
• Our Clubhouse and Teammate Shorts are both made from our Sportslite Hyperflex fabrication, a technical sportswear fabric that’s four way stretch, tough as anything, with full range of movement.
- The Clubhouse range uses raw Hyperflex that allows for sublimation finishing, for patterns and prints that’ll blow your home pitch’s mind.
- Our Teammate Shorts use Hyperflex that’s been dyed to give you steady, fade-resistant colour that won’t quit.
• Our Stadium Shorts are made using our newest fabrication, TechKnit. We made this fabric to emulate the fabric of old-school rugby shorts, with a directional knit texture and absolutely matte finish. The result is a fabric that looks like it belongs on a traditional rugby short of yesteryear... that is, until you put them on and start to move. With four way stretch, a lighter weight, and moisture wicking properties, TechKnit gives the Stadiums modern performance, breathability, and a full range of motion, without compromising on classic aesthetic.
No! The vast majority of our customers take their normal size. Our Teammate and Clubhouse Shorts are very stretchy and soft; most still take the size they most commonly wear, but some customers who prefer a snugger fit size down in them. Our Stadium Shorts are also four way stretch, like our other shorts, but are directionally knit to look like a traditional rugby short, and so are slightly more rigid. The overwhelming majority of Stadium Shorts customers take their normal size, just fewer people size down in them than they do in the Clubhouse or Teammate. We do not recommend sizing up in any of our shorts; if you are between sizes and are unsure which to try, take the smaller of your two sizes!
We offer Femme and Tomboy fits in all of our rugby shorts. The only difference between them is styling: The Femme’s are shorter, and slightly curvier, whereas the Tomboy’s are slightly longer, and a little straighter through the hip. The fit does not change anything else about the shorts, the fabric and the finish and the sizing all stays the same. It’s just about style and preference, that’s it!
